Paramount+ has set a premiere date for its Tracy Morgan-led comedy Crutch — and is planning a cross-platform crossover to help launch the show.
The full, eight-episode season will premiere Nov. 3 on the streamer. That evening, Morgan will also guest star in an episode of CBS’ The Neighborhood as Francois “Frank” Crutchfield, known as Crutch. In the episode, Calvin (Cedric the Entertainer) reaches out to his cousin Crutch to get Malcolm (Sheaun McKinney) a sweet deal on a new floor. However, Crutch (who lives in New York) insists on coming to L.A. to oversee the work himself, where he drives Tina (Tichina Arnold) crazy — and reveals an emotional vulnerability.
(Morgan also played Calvin’s younger brother Curtis in a 2022 episode of The Neighborhood.)
Paramount+ gave Crutch a series order in May 2024. The show, which counts Cedric the Entertainer among its executive producers, centers on Morgan’s character, a Harlem shop owner whose life is upended when his adult kids (Jermaine Fowler and Adrianna Mitchell) move back in with him. Kecia Lewis, Adrian Martinez, Braxton Paul and Finn Maloney also star.
Owen Smith (Morgan’s TBS series The Last O.G.) is the creator and showrunner of Crutch, which comes from CBS Studios. Smith executive produces with Cedric the Entertainer and Eric C. Rhone for a Bird and a Bear Entertainment, The Neighborhood EPs Aaron Kaplan (via Kapital Entertainment) and Wendi Trilling (via TrillTV), Morgan and Mike Mariano.
Crutch will be one of two series starring Morgan running during the 2025-26 season. He also stars in NBC’s The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, reuniting him with 30 Rock exec producers Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.
