NikeSKIMS, the joint venture between the behemoth sports apparel company and Kim Kardashians’ clothing brand, is here. The inaugural line was announced Monday morning and will officially go on sale Sept. 26 at 7 a.m. PT.
“Whether you’re a top recruit like our college athletes, a legend like Serena, or simply showing up for yourself in the gym, every woman wants to look and feel amazing while working out and achieving their goals,” Kardashian, co-founder and chief creative officer of Skims, said in a statement. “Our mission is simple: to redefine the rules of women’s activewear. No more compromises. We’re combining high-performance innovation with sexy, style-forward design for all women who demand both.”
The sports-minded line, spanning seven distinct collections, includes versatile pieces for a head-to-toe wardrobe — from foundational bras and leggings to layerable outerwear and accessories.
To introduce the inaugural collection, NikeSKIMs released a debut film starring 50 female athletes in the Nike Portfolio, including Serena Williams, Sha’Carri Richardson, Jordan Chiles, Chloe Kim, Madisen Skinner, Romane Dicko, Beatriz Hatz and Nelly Korda. Titled “Bodies of Work,” the 46-second video
is directed by filmmaker Janicza Bravo features female athletes doing a wide range of exercises and sports, all donning pieces from the new collections.
“This is a reminder that my body and every woman’s body are not something to be picked apart or controlled,” Chiles said upon viewing the film for the first time. “It’s a force. It’s power. It’s artistry. I’ve spent my life proving what my body can do rather than letting the world tell me what I should look like.”
The collection will be available Sept 26 at Nike and SKIMS’ websites and select retail locations, including flagship stores from both brands in New York City and Los Angeles.
