Ray Romano is set for a recurring role in “Running Point” Season 2, Variety has confirmed with sources.
Romano will play coach Norm Stinson in the Netflix comedy’s second season. Robert Townsend was originally announced for the part in September, but the creative team decided to go in a different direction and have recast the role with Romano.
Variety has reached out to Netflix for comment.

His other recent TV roles include “Made for Love,” “Bookie,” and “Bupkis.” Romano is best known for starring in the self-titled sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond,” which ran for nine seasons and remains popular to this day. In film, Romano recently starred in “The Irishman” for Martin Scorsese as well as features like “The Big Sick” and the “Ice Age” animated movie franchise.
He is repped by LBI Entertainment, The Conversation Company and Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka.
